Dear Student

When term have the same algebraic factors, they are like terms.
Then, we have to subtract the like terms
= 5p^2+ 3q^2–pq–(4pq–5q^2–3p^2)
= 5p^2+ 3q^2–pq–4pq + 5q^2+ 3p^2
= 5p^2+ 3p^2+ 3q^2+ 5q^2–pq–4pq
= 8p^2+ 8q^2–5pq

Thanks
