Dear Student

By mere observation we can’t compare the line segments with slight difference in their length. We can’tsay which line segment is of greater length. Hence, the chances of errors due to improper viewing are more.

By mere observation we guess that segments AB and CD are same in length but actually it may be different.
Thus
The disadvantage in  line segments by mere observation is that some times the difference in lengths between two line segments may not be adequate. so, we cannot be always sure about our usual judgement.

Hope it helps!
