A. A scalar quantity

Electric potential is a scalar quantity. It describes the electric potential energy per unit charge at a point in space. It does not have a direction associated with it, which is a characteristic of vector quantities. The electric potential at a point is only dependent on the magnitude of the charges and their positions, not on any specific direction.
