A thick wire has less resistance than a thin wire. This is because resistance is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of the wire. A thicker wire has a larger cross-sectional area, allowing more space for electrons to flow, resulting in less opposition to the flow of current, and thus, lower resistance.
