Vectors can have the same magnitude but point in different directions. Here are two examples:

Example Vectors

  • Vector A: (3, 4)
  • Vector B: (-3, -4)

Magnitude Calculation

The magnitude of both vectors can be calculated using the formula:

Magnitude = √(x² + y²)

For Vector A:

Magnitude = √(3² + 4²) = √(9 + 16) = √25 = 5

For Vector B:

Magnitude = √((-3)² + (-4)²) = √(9 + 16) = √25 = 5

Conclusion

Both vectors A and B have the same magnitude of 5, but they point in opposite directions.
