Raoult's Law is a principle in physical chemistry that describes the behavior of ideal solutions. It states that the partial vapor pressure of each component in an ideal solution is directly proportional to its mole fraction in the solution, provided that the interactions between the molecules of different components are similar to those between like molecules. This law is named after French chemist François-Marie Raoult, who first formulated it in the 19th century.
