Generation of Electromotive Force (EMF): The armature coil, which is typically made of wire wound into a coil, is placed within the magnetic field created by the stator (or field magnets). When the coil rotates within this magnetic field, it experiences a change in magnetic flux according to Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. This change induces an electromotive force (EMF) or voltage in the coil.

Current Conduction: The induced EMF creates an electric current when the circuit is closed. The armature coil conducts this current to the external circuit.

Electrical Output: The rotating armature coil is connected to the external circuit through commutators (in DC generators) or slip rings (in AC generators). These components help in transferring the generated current from the rotating coil to the external circuit in a usable form.

In summary, the armature coil is essential for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy in a generator.
