One oscillation of a pendulum refers to the complete back-and-forth motion of the pendulum from one extreme position to the other and back again. It consists of two phases: the swing to one side, reaching the maximum displacement (amplitude), and then swinging back to the opposite side, again reaching the maximum displacement but in the opposite direction. This motion repeats itself in a regular and periodic manner, forming a pattern of oscillations. The time taken to complete one full oscillation is called the period of the pendulum.
