An element with the atomic number 140 would be in a theoretical realm since no such element has been discovered or synthesized yet. The periodic table currently only extends to elements with atomic numbers up to 118 (Oganesson). Elements with higher atomic numbers are predicted to be in a region called the "island of stability," but as of now, they remain hypothetical. If an element with atomic number 140 were to exist, it would be part of the 8th period and belong to the extended series of superheavy elements.
