CCl4, also known as carbon tetrachloride, is a covalent compound. It consists of carbon (C) and chlorine (Cl) atoms bonded together by covalent bonds, where they share electrons to form molecules. In covalent compounds, atoms share electrons to achieve a stable electron configuration, rather than transferring electrons as in ionic compounds.
