(i) The most common ore of aluminium is bauxite. The chemical formula of bauxite is Al2O3·nH2O, where n varies depending on the specific composition of the ore.

(ii) The process by which impure ore of aluminium gets purified by using concentrated solution of an alkali is called the Bayer process.

(iii) During the electrolysis of alumina (Al2O3), aluminium is formed at the cathode. The overall reaction can be represented by the equation:
