A. Haloalkanes easily dissolve in organic solvents because they possess a non-polar nature due to the presence of carbon-halogen bonds. Organic solvents, like chloroform or carbon tetrachloride, have similar non-polar characteristics, enabling them to effectively dissolve haloalkanes through London dispersion forces and other non-polar interactions.

B. Iodoform is used as an antiseptic due to its ability to inhibit the growth of microorganisms. When applied to wounds, iodoform releases iodine, which has strong antiseptic properties. Iodine disrupts the metabolic processes of bacteria, fungi, and other pathogens, thereby preventing infection and promoting healing.

C. Haloalkanes are generally more reactive than haloarenes towards nucleophilic substitution reactions due to differences in their hybridization states and the nature of the carbon-halogen bond. In haloalkanes, the carbon-halogen bond is polarized, making the carbon atom partially positively charged and susceptible to attack by nucleophiles. Additionally, the sp3 hybridization of the carbon atom in haloalkanes provides more accessible sites for nucleophilic attack compared to the sp2 hybridization found in haloarenes, where the delocalization of electrons in the aromatic ring decreases the reactivity towards nucleophilic substitution.
