Evaporation: Evaporation is the process where liquid water changes into water vapor due to the gain of heat energy. The water molecules gain enough kinetic energy to overcome the forces of attraction holding them together in the liquid phase, and they escape into the air as vapor. Evaporation is also a physical change because the substance (water) remains the same chemically; only its physical state changes from liquid to gas.

In both cases, the molecules involved remain the same, and there's no alteration in the chemical composition of water. Therefore, they are classified as physical changes.
