An animal that shares some characteristics with protists could be a single-celled organism like an amoeba. Amoebas are eukaryotic organisms that belong to the kingdom Protista, which also includes a wide variety of other single-celled organisms like paramecia and euglenas. Amoebas move by extending their pseudopods, which are temporary projections of their cytoplasm, somewhat similar to how some protists move using flagella or cilia. Additionally, both amoebas and protists are eukaryotic, meaning their cells have a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles.
