C. Aldosterone and ADH

The volume of urine is primarily regulated by the hormones aldosterone and antidiuretic hormone (ADH), also known as vasopressin. Aldosterone, produced by the adrenal glands, regulates the reabsorption of sodium and water in the kidneys. ADH, produced by the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland, controls the water reabsorption in the kidneys by influencing the permeability of the collecting ducts. Together, these hormones help maintain the body's fluid balance by adjusting the amount of water and electrolytes excreted in the urine.
