The process by which water enters the root hair cell is osmosis.

Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from a region of lower concentration of solutes (higher concentration of water) to a region of higher concentration of solutes (lower concentration of water) through a selectively permeable membrane. In the case of root hair cells, the cell membrane is selectively permeable, allowing water to pass through while restricting the movement of other substances.

Water enters the root hair cell from the soil, where the water concentration is higher, to the inside of the cell, where the concentration of solutes (such as minerals) is relatively higher. This movement helps in the uptake of water and minerals necessary for the plant’s growth.
