Stamens consist of two main parts: the filament, which is a thin stalk-like structure, and the anther, which is located at the tip of the filament.

The primary function of the staminate flower is to produce and release pollen grains, which contain the male gametes (sperm cells) necessary for fertilizing the female reproductive structures of the plant, such as the pistil or carpel. When pollen is released from the anther, it can be carried by various agents such as wind, insects, birds, or other animals to the pistillate flowers (female flowers) of the same or a compatible plant species. This process, known as pollination, allows for the transfer of genetic material and the initiation of the fertilization process, eventually leading to the formation of seeds and fruits.

It's important to note that not all plant species have separate male and female flowers.
