Because fullerene is non polar.water is polar solvent.non polar solutes dissolve in non polar solvent. As methyl benzene is non polar fullerene is soluble in it.

We know that like dissolves like that is polar substance dissolve in polar solvent and non-polar substance dissolves in non-polar solvent.Since water is polar and fullerine is non-polar so it does not dissolves in water.Methyl benzene is non-polar so it dissolves in.
