The "Father of Indian Nuclear Programme" is Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha. He was an eminent Indian physicist and is often referred to as the architect of India's nuclear energy program. Dr. Bhabha played a pivotal role in establishing India's first nuclear research center, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), in Mumbai in 1945. He also initiated the establishment of the Atomic Energy Commission of India in 1948 and was its first chairman. Dr. Bhabha's contributions laid the foundation for India's nuclear power and nuclear weapons programs. He is widely regarded as a pioneer of nuclear science in India and played a crucial role in shaping the country's nuclear aspirations.
