Holozoic nutrition is a type of heterotrophic nutrition that is characterized by the internalization and internal processing of gaseous, liquids or solid food particles. Complete answer: It is a method of nutrition which involves the ingestion of some complex organic substances that may be in the solid or in liquid state. The complex food is then broken into simpler substances by enzymes in the digestive system. Holozoic nutrition stages are – ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation and egestion. >A.Humans - Holozoic nutrition is thus a heterotrophic mode of nutrition. Other examples of holozoic nutrition are Amoeba, Humans, Dog, Cat, etc. >B. Fungi – Fungi have saprophytic mode of nutrition. They live on dead or decaying organic matter and derive their food. They release enzymes to break down complex organic matter into simpler forms. >C. Bacteria – On the basis of nutrition bacteria are two types (i) Autotrophic (ii) Heterotrophic Autotrophic are further of two types: Photoautotrophic and chemoautotrophic. Also, heterotrophic are of two types photoheterotrophic and chemoheterotrophic. >D. Virus – Viruses are kept in between the living and nonliving. They are inert and nature. Viruses require the host to complete their life-cycle. This virus relies on living cells to multiply. Hence the correct answer is option (A) Humans. Note:There are several stages of holozoic nutrition, which often occur in separate compartments within an organism (such as the stomach and intestines): Ingestion, Digestion, Absorption, Assimilation, and Egestion.
