What will be the new magnification if a lens of magnification m whose  lower portion of Lens is cut ?

Dear student,

Since the curvature pr shape of the part of lens that is left behind is not changed, the magnification of the lens would also be the same. Though, after cutting the lens, the aperture of the lens decrases which results in lesser light getting refracted to form image and hence lower intensity of image.
