Soil can be categorized into different types namely sandy soil, clay soil, silt soil, peat soil and loam soil. In India, soil is found in six different forms. These forms are namely alluvial soil, blck soil, red soil, laterite soil, arid soil, forest soil and mountainous soil. Complete Step by Step answer: Alluvial soil is found in the river deltas of the eastern coast. This soil is particularly found in the deltas made by river Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and the Kavery. Main features of this soil is as follows- Alluvial soil is formed by the deposits made by the rivers during its flow from upper course to lower course. This soil is porous and light in texture. This soil is very fertile because it is rich in minerals. This soil is made up of many matters like fine particles of silt and clay. Due to its loamy texture, this soil is porous. The alluvial soil comprises a good amount of potash and phosphoric acid. The amount of nitrogen is normally low in this soil. Alluvial soil is mostly regular and flat. This is why this soil is best suited for agriculture. Wheat, rice, tobacco, cotton, sugarcane, jute, maize, vegetables and fruits etc are the crops grown in alluvial soil. The productivity and the mineral content of alluvial soil depends on its age. Alluvial soil is found in the river deltas of eastern coast. Note: Alluvial soil is also divided geographically. The geographical division of this soil is as follows- Bhabar, Tarai, Bhangar and Khadar.
