Dear student,

The locomotory organ of the Amoeba is called pseudopodia which are also termed as 'false feet'.
∙ These are elongated projections produced by the extension of the cell membrane. As the membrane gets along with it, the cytoplasm fills that space to facilitate the extending or shortening of the pseudopodia.
∙ As the pseudopodia get extended and shortened, the body of the Amoeba can move in a specific direction.
∙ Pseudopodia is a temporary structure that keeps changing for the movement of amoebae.
