Dear Student

It is a group of members of same class of organic compound having similar chemical properties, they have same general formula.
They have same functional group, when arranged in the ascending order of molecular mass they differ by 14 a.m.u. or CH2group.
Example: Alkane General formula CnH2n+2
MethaneCH4
EthaneC2H6
PropaneC3H8
ButaneC4H10
