Carbon has two stable isotopes: carbon-12 (^12C) and carbon-13 (^13C). These isotopes are found in nature and do not decay radioactively over time. Carbon-12 is the most abundant, making up about 98.9% of naturally occurring carbon, while carbon-13 makes up the remaining 1.1%.
