in both type of mirror the main thing u have to understand is the sign convention , if u are clear with the sign convention , then only -ve and +ve sign , will affect you , 
the magnification of the mirror will be 
m = f/u+f 
and if u can add the -ve sign , then it will become that of convex mirror , and remember – it also depend upon the image position , 
and if u want derivation then let me know , i will give you the derivation here .
