Land which is not fertile enough cannot be used for cultivation. Barren and waste lands describes an area of land where plant growth which may be sparse , stunted or contain limited biodiversity. Therefore ,Barren and waste land is not useful for cultivation. Complete answer: Let us discuss each option individually in detail to figure out the correct answer with the help of the above stated hint. Forests :- Forest is an area of land dominated by trees. Forests include trees ,shrubs ,grasses and other herbaceous plants ,birds ,mammals ,reptiles, amphibians and microorganisms living on the plants and animals. Therefore , this is not the correct option. Barren and waste lands :- Barren and waste land cannot be used for cultivation as Barren lands are in hilly terrain while wasteland situated in the left fellow from a long time. Therefore , this is the correct option. Fallows and other than current fallow :- Fallow land includes all land which was taken up for cultivation but is temporary out of cultivation period which is not less than 1 years and not more than 5 years. current fallow land means cropped area which is kept followed during the current year. Therefore , this is not the correct option. Net sown area :- It is an easy total area shown with crops and orchards. It represents an area in which total crops are grown only once in a year. Therefore , this is not the correct option. Hence, the correct answer is option B. Note:Barren land includes land, soil , sand or rocks and deserts, dry salt flats, beaches ,etc. Barren land cannot be cultivated with normal technology while waste land can be brought under cultivation after improving it.
