ethane burns in oxygen to form CO2 and water according to the equation: 2C 2 H 6 +7O 2 gives 4CO 2 +6H 2 O. if 1250 cc of oxygen is burnt with 300cc of ethane. calculate: (1) the volume of CO 2 formed. (2)the volume of unused O 2

ethane burns in oxygen to form CO2 and water according to the equation:
2C2H6+7O gives 4CO2+6H2O.
if 1250 cc of oxygen is burnt with 300cc of ethane.
calculate:
(1) the volume of CO2 formed.
(2)the volume of unused O2

2 C2H6  + 7 O2 --->4 CO2 +6 H2O
 ethane rqd = 2volume
oxygen rqd = 7 volume
 therefore for 300 cc of ethane
volume of oxygen rqd = 150 x 7 cc = 1050 cc
volume of carbon dioxide formed will be =  4 volume = 4 x 150 cc = 600 cc
volume of unused oxygen left = 1250 - 1050 =200 cc
