Dear student
Due to the tetrahedral arrangement of covalently bonded carbon atoms in diamonds, there are no free electrons that can move and carry currents in diamonds. ... Hence, diamond is a bad conductor of electricity. But diamond is a good conductor of heat as the conduction of heat does not require the presence of free electrons.
