The molar mass of a compound defines the mass of 1 mole of that particular substance and the number of grams per mole of a compound. In other words, the molar mass is the total mass of all the atoms in grams that make a mole of a particular molecule.

Molar mass of Nitrogen = 14g/mole

Mass of 1 mole of Nitrogen = 14g

1 mole of nitrogen contains 6.022×1023 atoms (Avogadro’s number)

Mass of 6.022 × 1023 atoms of nitrogen = 14 grams

Mass of 1 atom of nitrogen = 14g/(6.022 × 1023 atoms)

Mass of 1 atom of nitrogen = 2.325 × 10-23
