Industrialization cause a boom in factory jobs, causing many poor people from the country side to move to cities, i.e. Urbanization. These new jobs created a new middle class of blue collar workers, but they were often taken advantage of by the factory owners through long hours, low wages, child labor, dangerous conditions, and sexual exploitation of the female workers.
