Dear student
Ship needs to bear the load.
Aircraft need to fly with the load.
A ship can be made as large as practical as long as its buoyancy is greater than its load bearing capacity.
An aircraft, on the other hand, needs to lift its own weight as well as the weight of its cargo and fuel, so there’s a diminishing return as you build ever larger planes until it’s no longer practical.

Ship can carry more load as compared to aeroplane because aeroplane has to bear its own heavy weight so it has limited capacity to carry load whereas ships can be made huge depending on buoyancy and capacity to carry load.
