And,tanΦMsin90 / M + Mcos 90 = 1,i.e.,Φ= tan–1(1) = 45°

MR= (M2+ M2+ 2MM cos 90)1/2=(√2) mL

and as here M1= M2= mL andθ= 90°, so

MR=(M12+ M22+ 2M1M2cos θ)1/2withtanΦM2sinθ /M1+M2cosθ

As magnetic moment is a vector, so we know

As magnetic moment is a vector, so we know

MR=(M12+ M22+ 2M1M2cos θ)1/2withtanΦM2sinθ /M1+M2cosθ

and as here M1= M2= mL andθ= 90°, so

MR= (M2+ M2+ 2MM cos 90)1/2=(√2) mL
