it is proposed to add to a square lawn measuring 58m on a side,two circular ends.the centre of each being the point of intersection of the diagonal of the square.find the area of the whole lawn.

The added area will be segment such that the circular regions added have centre as the geometrical centre of the square.(pt of intersection of diagonals). Angle subtend by each sector at the centre will be pi/4. So total area added will be [half the area of the circle which is being added to the square-half the area of square]
