By Basic Proportionality Theorem we can write, 
BN/NC = AM/MC
\therefore 3/7 = AM/10.5
Hence, after calculations we can write,
 
AM=3x10.5/7
AM= 4.4cm

as mn is parallel to ab
​​ by basic proportionality theorem ,
cm/am=cn/bn
10.5/am=7/3
am=10.5*3/7  am=4.5
