(x^2 – a^2 )/(x-a) = (x-a) (x+a) / (x-a) =  (x+a)
 
hence now put limit
 
= 2a

Dear student 
This is the case of Lhospital rule , 
So , 0/0 is indeterminant form if you will put the limits . 
So differenciate numerator and denominator. 
And put the limit . 
Ans = 2a /1
