A tree of height h metres is broken by a storm in such a way that its top touches the ground at a dustance of x metres from its root. Find the height at which the tree is broken?

Dear Student,

Assume the AB is and tree broken from C and top point (A) touches on the ground.
Let BC = a, then AC = h-a and given BA = x.
Apply the pythagorus theorem and get the value of a.
This will be the height at which the tree is broken.
