Giving NEET (AIPMT) a Shot? You Need This Checklist

NEET (AIPMT)NEET (AIPMT) 2015 (All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination) is an UG (undergraduate) medical entrance examination conducted on a national level by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) on 3rd May 2015 for candidates who wish to secure admission for MBBS or BDS seats in Government-run medical and dental colleges in India, excluding the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.

Many Institutions/Universities/State Governments participate voluntarily in NEET (AIPMT) as well as accept its Merit List to offer admission in Medical/Dental colleges against seats that are under their control.

The cut-off date for online applications for NEET (AIPMT) was 31st December 2014. If a candidate missed the registration date, he or she could fill up the application form for NEET (AIPMT) 2015 till January 31, 2015.

NEET (AIPMT) 2015 is conducted for offering admission to nearly 300 BDS and 3,200 MBBS seats at 30 Government-run dental colleges and 130 medical colleges in India, respectively.

The further admission procedure such as issuing of Admit Card, examination commencement, declaration of results, and Counselling Procedure will be conducted in due course.

NEET (AIPMT) Counselling 

Counselling for NEET (AIPMT) 2015 will be held tentatively in the months of July or August 2015 through both online and offline modes under 15 percent all-Indian quota. (Under state-participating universities and a quota of 85 percent seats for Delhi University).

Offline Counselling

The counselling for the available seats under state-participating institutions and universities will be carried out through offline mode. The form of application for the Counselling Procedure for a specific university or college will be made available at the respective college or university. Candidates need to attend and obey rules and instructions conducted by the same college or university for the Counselling Procedure.

Counselling for Delhi University (DU)

DU will conduct counselling for admission of 85 percent seats quota through NEET (AIPMT) 2015. The form of application will be made available at DU’s Faculty of Medical Science.

Online Counselling

The Counselling Procedure for seats under 15 percent All-India Quota will be carried out online and will be conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) on behalf of the DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services).

Required Documents

On the counselling day, candidates will need to submit certain documents both original and attested copies for verification at the college of allotment. If a candidate belongs to the reserved category, he or she will have to submit SC/ST/OBC/PH certificate issued by a competent authority. The documents required to be submitted are mentioned below:

  • NEET (AIPMT) 2015 Admit Card that has been issued by CBSE

  • Rank Letter that has been issued by CBSE

  • Date of Birth Proof (in case Date of Birth differs to that mentioned in Class 10 certificate)

  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets

  • Class 10 and Class 12 passing certificates

  • 2 recent passport-size photographs (identical to those affixed on the application form)

  • Proof of identity

Candidates who fail to bring the original documents will not be permitted admission at the college of allotment. Candidates who are admitted in a particular medical college, have submitted their original documents and are ready for the Counselling Procedure with a certificate that states that the “original certificates have been deposited to the medical university/college” will not be allowed to participate in admission to the college of allotment.

Counselling Procedure

All candidates selected for counselling need to register for online counselling. The conducting board will declare the registration date. The procedure of online counselling will comprise of 3 rounds for allotment of seats. Each chosen candidate will receive an allotted seat in a medical college according to their choice, rank, and availability of seats in that specific institution.

Admission or Joining

Each candidate who has been selected will be provided an allotment letter between 7 and 10 days of the joining period. Extension for joining, course change, or change in state or college will not be permitted. While reporting for admission to the allotted college, candidates need to bring along the original documents. These documents will be preserved by the allotted institutions until course completion. The admission will be cancelled if candidates fail to report to the allotted institutions on the given admission time.
