Eligibility Criteria For Admissions into Thapar University 2017

• Candidates willing to take admissions must have cleared the class XII board exams with a minimum percentage score of 60% aggregate in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) along with any other subjects from Biochemistry, Biology and Computer science.

• Candidates must have appeared the IIT-JEE 2017 and have been in the merits list of the qualifying candidates for admissions into Thapar University

• The candidate has to be of Indian origin and must be born before 1^st of October 1989 (1985 for candidates belonging to SC/PwD/OBC/ST communities)

• The admissions for Thapar University 2017 into engineering streams strictly on the basis of scores of IIT-JEE and Class 12^th Board scores in the ratio of 60:40

Eligibility Criteria – For Board Toppers

• Two of the toppers of the qualifying exam in 2017 shall be directly given admission into the UG programs of Thapar University.

• The entrance test score of these two topper candidates shall not be taken into consideration

• Selection of branch shall be allotted to them as per their choices

• If these two candidates maintain the CGPA of minimum 8.50 their tuition fees shall also be waved off.

Reservations of Seats For Thapar University 2017. B.Tech Courses

• 50% reservation for the candidates belonging to Punjab State.

• 2% reservation for the candidates belonging to the ‘Sports category’ for the candidates having certificate in A, B, C gradation as issued by the Director of Sports, Punjab

• 25% reservation of ST/SC belonging to Punjab State and for ST of Outside Punjab 17.5% and for SC of Outside Punjab 7.5%. Reservation for OBC is 5%

• Reservation for Physically Handicapped belonging to Punjab and outside Punjab is set as 3% respectively

• 10 seats shall be reserved for beneficiaries of MHRD, Government of India.

• 1 seat shall be reserved for candidates of Jammu Kashmir migrants.

• 1% seats for candidates who are children of the employees of Thapar University

Thapar University Application Form 2017

• Candidates are required to fill the application form can be filled online as well as offline. Candidates are also required to pay the Thapar University 2017 application form fees of INR 1500 in both the modes in the following manner:

• For Offline mode: The candidates can download the application form and send it to the university along with the application fees through demand draft drawn in favor of “Thapar University”, payable at Patiala.

• For Online mode: The candidates can also fill the application form online and take the print outs of the forms for future use and shall pay the fees through online banking or by debit card. In this case they are required to send the application copy to the university on the address:

Thapar University Counseling 2017

• Candidates applied for counseling procedure and paid the fees before 26^th of July are eligible for the counseling procedures conducted by the Thapar University for admissions into Engineering courses 2017

• Candidates with minimum of 20% marks (For ST/SC 15%) in JEE MAIN 2017 shall be eligible for the counseling process.

• Candidates with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in 10+2 or any equivalent exam with the subjects Mathematics, Physics and any one subject out of Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Computer Science shall be eligible for the counseling process.

Documents to be Produced During Thapar University Counseling 2017

• Candidates are required to produce the original certificates along with attested copies for verification. Candidates are required to be present with the following documents:

• Copy of the filled Application form

• 10+2 /equivalent exam/graduation/post graduation DMC

• Class 10^th Board Certificate along with make sheet

• Result Card and Admit Card of the JEE MAIN Entrance Exam

• Medical Fitness Certificate of the candidate

• Certificate for the Reserved Category on the prescribed Performa and issued by the relevant authority

• Migration Certificate
