Few of my articles are based upon biological classification. Here again, I am going to tell you those categorization, which I haven\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t told you before.<\/p>\n<p>All of my words are going to be related to<strong> ctenophores, aschelminthes<\/strong> (nematoda) <strong>&amp; Platyhelminthes<\/strong>. They all fall under the category of non-chordates in Kingdom Animalia. Don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t worry! It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s very easy J<\/p>\n<p>You can see the classification of Animal Kingdom in this <strong>flow chart<\/strong>. Look it closely, because I am going to tell you now features of them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-1.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9319\" src=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-1-1024x950.png\" alt=\"PCA-1\" width=\"1024\" height=\"950\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You need to drink this classification! Guys, move cursor now as you are going to get very important information!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ctenophora<\/strong> \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 (Gk. Ktene- comb, phors \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 bearing, Pronounced as \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 teen-o-four)<\/p>\n<p>These are the <strong>comb jellies<\/strong>. Ctenophores are specifically marine organisms. Probably, there are 100-150 species of them. They can probably be the common members of planktons. Some of the small sized ctenophores are even invisible. Various kinds of ctenophores include <strong>coastal, benthic, oceanic<\/strong> &amp; very beautiful <strong>bioluminescent<\/strong> one. Some of their special features are<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-2-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9324 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"PCA-2\" width=\"340\" height=\"276\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ctenophores are carnivores.<\/li>\n<li>Their larval stage is<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed sub epidermal nerve net is present.<\/li>\n<li>Digestive system is complete with separate mouth &amp; anal opening.<\/li>\n<li>Mostly sexual reproduction occurs in them (as <strong>hermaphrodite<\/strong>) but occasionally sexual reproduction also occurs.<\/li>\n<li>Body is variable. It can be multicellular with tissue level or organ level of organization.<\/li>\n<li>Combs which are actually plates of cilia help them to swim.<\/li>\n<li>They may feed upon each other as well.<\/li>\n<li>They use <strong>sticky tentacles<\/strong> <strong>&amp; oral lobes<\/strong> to capture the prey.<\/li>\n<li>Ctenophores have bilateral symmetry.<\/li>\n<li>Some of the examples are \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Hormiphora, cestum, beroe, pleurobrachia etc.<\/li>\n<li>They are divided in to two classes viz. <strong>tentaculata <\/strong>&amp; <strong>nuda<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Aschelminthes <\/strong>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Also known as <strong>nemanthelminthes<\/strong> (Gk. nema \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 thread, helmin &#8211; worm), <strong>nematode<\/strong> or <strong>roundworm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>They are microscopic &amp; worm like invertebrates. All organisms in this category are put together because of the presence of the <strong>pseudocoelom <\/strong>in it. Their body cavity (coelom) is quite different.<br \/>\nThey do not have any evolutionary relationship with each other. They are related to other phylum as well in relation to their other features. \u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0Certain characteristics of them are<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9321 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-3.jpg\" alt=\"PCA-3\" width=\"317\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Their body is unsegmented &amp; is wrinkled. Annulation is present in specifically marine species.<\/li>\n<li>Their body doesn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t consist of any pigment &amp; that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s why it is either colorless or pale in color.<\/li>\n<li>Nematodes have long, elongated &amp; fusiform body.<\/li>\n<li>They are usually parasitic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Respirations<\/strong> in nematodes occur simply by <strong>diffusion<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>They organization is at the organ level.<\/li>\n<li>Symmetry is bilateral with <strong>triploblastic<\/strong> body layers.<\/li>\n<li>Digestive system is complete (separate mouth &amp; anal opening).<\/li>\n<li>Distinct male &amp; female sexes are present.<\/li>\n<li>Females are usually longer then male.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nerve ring<\/strong> &amp; <strong>longitudinal nerve<\/strong> <strong>cords<\/strong> constitute the nervous system.<\/li>\n<li>Body walls of nematodes are made up of <strong>cuticle, epidermis &amp; musculature<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Four larval stages are present in which third one is infective.<\/li>\n<li>Some of the examples are \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153<\/li>\n<li>They are classified into 2 classes viz. <strong>Aphasmidia <\/strong>&amp; <strong>phasmidia<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Some of the examples are \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Ascaris lumbricoidis, Wuchereria, loa loa, trichinella, enterobius, drancunculus etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Platyhelminthes<\/strong> \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 (Gk. Platys \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 broad\/flat, helmin &#8211; worm)<\/p>\n<p>Flatworms include about 13000 species. They are soft bodied invertebrate animals. Flatworms are basically <strong>dorso-ventrally flattened<\/strong> organisms. I am expecting, you are grasping every information that I am telling you. Now, again we are taking a look to the features of platy-helminthic organisms. Which are<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9322 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PCA-4.jpg\" alt=\"PCA-4\" width=\"266\" height=\"174\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Their body is covered with a cuticle.<\/li>\n<li>They are free living &amp; primarily they are aquatic.<\/li>\n<li>They have complex life cycle which involve multiple hosts.<\/li>\n<li>Cross &amp; internal fertilization occur between <strong>hermaphrodite<\/strong> Asexual reproduction occurs by <strong>regeneration<\/strong> where they just grow several parts of the body.<\/li>\n<li>Flatworms have ladder like nervous system.<\/li>\n<li>Flatworms show <strong>bilateral symmetry<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Excretion occurs by <strong>protonephridia<\/strong> (also known as <strong>flame cells<\/strong>). It helps in <strong>osmoregulation<\/strong> as well.<\/li>\n<li>They are classified into 3 classes viz. <strong>Turbelllaria, trematoda<\/strong> &amp; <strong>cestoda<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Some of the examples are \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Dugesia, fasciola, Schistostoma, polystomum, taenia, echinococcus etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is a greater than great chance that you are going to have certain questions in your exam from these topic.
