(\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I hope you guyz remember it when Aamir khan spares himself from ragging by applying a simple funda of science \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cSalt water is a good conductor of electricity\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d !! ) .Though both Ohm and Siemens have seen that movie numerous times yet they almost died laughing. Seeing them this way Ohm\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s younger brother Oswald (whose a science geek) couldn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t control himself asking ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009dBro, can you tell me what\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s conductor\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d ??<\/p>\n

Ohm and Siemens both scratched their head as little Os has punched in. Ohm was about to ask him to go and do his home -work rather than disturbing them when suddenly Siemens whispered in Ohm\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s ears ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Let\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s satisfy Os with an answer else he will think we don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t know it. It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s our big brother pride moment afterall and we can\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t hamper our image. Let him know from where have his big brothers got their name .\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n

\"Con-3\"<\/a>Hearing this Ohm got excited and started reciting ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d conductor<\/strong>\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0is any object or type of material that allows the flow of electrical current in one or more directions. \"Con-4\"<\/a>After saying this Siemen gave him a thumbs up and Ohm returned a winning smile to him considering that their task is accomplished and Os won\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t disturb them again.<\/p>\n

They returned back to their TV set when to their dismay Os again came up with new bunch of questions. This time it was Siemen\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s turn to entertain him since he was the harbinger of this mess.<\/p>\n

Os put up his new question ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Bro I didn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t understand this concept of conduction. Can you give me some day to day examples so I might be able to relate them.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n

Hearing this Siemen felt relaxed as the question was somewhat easy and started telling ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Have you ever noticed Os that ice\/chocolate bar melts in your hand when you keep it for long or when you put metal spoon in boiling water it becomes hot.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n

Siemen continued ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d My boy, those are examples of conduction.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n

Os looked puzzled. He said,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d But bro, I have heard that conductivity is related to electricity.They both go hand in hand. Even in the movie it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s shown like that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u00a6isn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t it??\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d. With a pause he continued ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Our teacher says, you will get electric current if you touch wire with bare wet hands because water is a good conductor of electricity but just now Ohm bhaiya said that metals are good conductors\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u00a6.I am confused!! \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n

Siemen wickedly pointed to Ohm as if to introduce their new speaker whose going to entertain Os\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s questions and whispered ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009dDude , you are gone\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d.<\/p>\n

Now it was the question of prestige. Ohm thought ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009dI can\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t let this moment go in Oss\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 hands\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 else he will complaint to mother that instead of doing group study with my friend ,I was watching T.V.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n

That\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s exactly the reason why you pull your arms after touching a hot pot. \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cWith a gulp he said ,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/span> The latter type of conduction occurs due to movement of charged particles be it free electrons or ions about which I hope you are well aware of Mr. Einstein\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u00a6isn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t it?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s the conduction of electricity due to which you get shock if you touch a live wire with wet hands.<\/p>\n

While Os was leaving the room Siemen shouted,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Os , Do you know that my name is actually the unit of conductance-Siemens whereas your brother\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s name-Ohm is the unit of resistance.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/p>\n

Os gaped and then left the room whereas Ohm and Siemens switched on the match.<\/p>\n
