On one hand, we get starry-eyed when we hear stories about IIT JEE toppers and IITians<br \/>\ngetting over-a-crore salary offers; and on the other hand, we get terrified when we hear that those who<br \/>\nfail board exams or even IITians commit suicide because they just couldn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t fight off the academic<br \/>\npressure.<br \/>\nHere are some tips for parents whose students are preparing for board exams or entrance exams like<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">JEE Main and Advanced or AIPMT<\/span>:<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u00a2<span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\">U<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">se Positive Encouragement Te<\/span>chniques<\/span><\/span>: It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s true that the number of distractors is increasing day-by-day. We need to be vigilant that the kids do not waste too much of their time on computers, mobiles, TV and talking to friends but this does not mean that our homes should<\/p>\n<p>turn into a war zone. Be gentle, appreciative, understanding, encouraging and above all, be<\/p>\n<p>patient. How you handle <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">stress<\/span> will be a decisive factor in how your children handle stress too.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u00a2\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff6600;\">Study Breaks are Normal &amp; Necessary<\/span>: All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy and Jill a dull<br \/>\ngirl. So, if your child has studied for 1 hour and is talking to family or friends or playing a round<\/p>\n<p>of badminton for 15 minutes, it is good and does not need snubbing. In fact, bond with your kids<\/p>\n<p>during this time and make it fun for them. They are fuelling stress and hypertension in them. Listen carefully<br \/>\nto what they say. Invite them to discuss whatever they want with you \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 be it about their studies<\/p>\n<p>and exams, or other topics. It will help you gauge the right ways to encourage them and guide<\/p>\n<p>them.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u00a2<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\">Success &amp; Failures are never everlasting<\/span><\/span>: While scoring good marks in board exams and<br \/>\ncracking entrance exams can put you at a leading position temporarily, this success is going to<\/p>\n<p>help you just one step of life. Similarly, failure in exams need not be everlasting. Help your kid<\/p>\n<p>forget it, get over it, and do better next time.
