Hostel life has its own fun for everyone, and when it comes to the top most educational institutions of the country, people normally have a view that there must be only study going on all over. Well, to be honest, the students in these top institutions have some of the weirdest way of lifestyle. They talk much uncommon, use some invented words which you might never have heard!<\/p>\n

These lingos are believed to be very expressive, and this only an IITian can understand! The roots of these lingos can be from variety of sources but the simplification of these has been done in all these years by the batches. As per the IITians, the language they use is very much powerful yet it is musical, much methodical but still poetic and its IITians’ pride but other\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s envy!<\/p>\n

Here we have collected some of the very common lingos and their meanings, which are being used in IIT-KGP<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Peace:<\/td>\nWhat you understand from peace is not exactly same at IITs, Peace is used as \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153Peace ho gaya\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 when someone clears a paper or \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153peaceful banda\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 for the one who doesn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t irritate others.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Bakait or vela:<\/td>\nnotorious, waste but very confident!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Phodu:<\/td>\nMostly used for the one who does great in exam but studies very less<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Katao:<\/td>\n\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cSlash.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d get it\/him out. (katao bande ko)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Funda:<\/td>\nconcept (funda clear kardo means Clear the basics)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Hallabba:<\/td>\nbig, huge, many<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

YBL:<\/td>\nyoung British Loafer<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
YDL:<\/td>\nyoung Dehati Loafer<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Ki tough:<\/td>\nunexpected hurdle<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Every IITs have their own Lingos and every such words and language have its own fun in talking to someone with whom you live four years of life!
