According to<a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/top-colleges.aspx\"> the Top Engineering Colleges of India<\/a> list published by Outlook as a result of its \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cIndia\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Top Professional Colleges 2014\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d survey NITs of Tiruchirapalli, Surathkal, Warangal, Rourkela, and Hamirpur are the top 5 NITs of India,.<\/p>\n<p>IITs and BITS Pilani grabbed the top 8 ranks of the list with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/top-engineering-colleges\/iit-delhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IIT Delhi <\/a>at the top. It was followed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/top-engineering-colleges\/iit-bombay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IIT Bombay<\/a>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/top-engineering-colleges\/iit-kharagpur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IIT Kharagpur<\/a>&#8211; IIT Madras- <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/top-engineering-colleges\/iit-kanpur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IIT Kanpur<\/a>&#8211; IIT BHU- <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/top-engineering-colleges\/bits-pilani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BITS Pilani<\/a> &#8211; IIT Guwahati \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 in that order.<\/p>\n<p>NIT Trichy was ranked #9 in the overall list but it was right at the top of the other NITs if considered only the NITs. National Institute of Technology of Tiruchirapalli was also rated a bit better than IIT Bombay in the area of \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153academic excellence\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 and even did better than IIT Madras on the measure of \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00cb\u0153personality development\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2. Nevertheless, it was left behind the IITs when it came to infrastructure and placements.<\/p>\n<p>NIT Surathkal was ranked #10 followed by NIT Warangal at #11. NIT Rourkela in Odisha was ranked 14th whereas NIT Hamirpur was ranked at #20.<\/p>\n<p>IIITs, which made it into Top 20 Engineering Colleges included <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/top-engineering-colleges\/iiit-hyderabad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IIIT Hyderabad<\/a> ranked at #13 followed by IIIT Allahabad.<\/p>\n<p>Other engineering colleges in Top 20 include NSIT (Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology), New Delhi ranked at #12. The PSG College of Technology at Coimbatore ranked at #15 followed by the JNTUH College of Engineering at Hyderabad ranked at #16.
