BITS Pilani has been ranked 10 on the list of top institutes worldwide according to GSoC statistics published by Google.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>GSoC or The Google Summer of Code is held annually by Google wherein it awards a stipend of USD 5500 to every student who successfully complete a requested free and open-source software coding project during the summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cOne of the perks of being a BITSian is that there are so many seniors who have been selected by GSoC that you get a lot of advice,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Gaurav Narula, a student from BITS-Pilani K.K Birla Goa Campus, said commenting on his selection.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cIt is not only about the technical knowledge but also about the time you are willing to dedicate to your project. It shouldn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t be about the money. It should be about the interest to learn and apply coding in the real world,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d another student, Manoj Kumar, who has been selected for GSoC for the second time, said.<br \/>\n\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cThe Google tag definitely helps.
