{"id":1320,"date":"2014-01-07T16:25:08","date_gmt":"2014-01-07T10:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/?p=1320"},"modified":"2014-01-07T16:25:08","modified_gmt":"2014-01-07T10:55:08","slug":"students-take-jee-mains-urdu-gujarati-marathi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/students-take-jee-mains-urdu-gujarati-marathi\/","title":{"rendered":"Students to Take JEE-Mains in Urdu, Gujarati &amp; Marathi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/iit-jee\/online-coaching\/\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1321\" title=\"Students to Take JEE-Mains in Urdu, Gujarati &amp; Marathi \" src=\"https:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Boy_Writing.png\" alt=\"Students to Take JEE-Mains in Urdu, Gujarati &amp; Marathi \" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>In what can be called as a notable move, Government of India has finally given its nod to over 60,000 students from different parts of the country to write their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/iit-jee\/\">JEE-Mains exams<\/a> in languages like Gujarati, Urdu, and Marathi.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time when students will take joint entrance exams in these regional languages at limited centers in Gujarat and Maharashtra.<\/p>\n<p>With the closing of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/iit-jee\/main\/application-form\/\">JEE-Mains registration <\/a>on Monday, top 150,000 students will contend for seats in IITs while the rest will join state and central institutes in India.<\/p>\n<p>Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha in 2013 have approved results of JEE-Mains for admission to their respective technical institutes.<\/p>\n<p>Maharashtra has 35 centers where students now can write their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.askiitians.com\/iit-jee\/online-coaching\/\">JEE-Mains<\/a> exams in Marathi, Urdu, English or Hindi while centers in Gujarat will allow students to take the exam in Gujarati, English or Hindi.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cThis is a positive trend and will help in giving a level playing field. We are hopeful that more states will join us next year. This will give us a wider platform to include more regional languages for the exam.
