Cracking BITSAT 2014 is not as hard as made up to be by some overzealous engineering aspirants. All you need is to prepare your CBSE course correctly and consider yourself already through the examination.
“If you are in a CBSE school, you can sail through without extra test prep because the paper is based on the same syllabi. So, focus on the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks,” advised BITS Pilani professors.
"The syllabus is exactly the same as that for the CBSE examination. There's nothing less or more," said Sudeep Mohan, former dean, admission, BITS, Pilani.
“According to authorities, the institute gives importance to the 10+2 education system. Unlike certain other competitions with advanced questions that may require coaching, Bitsat requires no additional preparation,” added Ajit Pratap Singh, dean, admissions, BITS, Pilani.
BITS Pilani has recently allowed PCB students to appear for the BITSAT for B. Pharma. Earlier, only PCM combination was required.
Out of 186,000 candidates who have applied for the BITSAT, many won’t be able to take the examination if they don’t meet the expected criteria of minimum percentage (60%) in each of the specified subjects and aggregate (75%) in their class XII exams.
"We estimate that 1.55 lakh to 1.60 lakh will take the test," said
Bijendra Nath Jain, vice chancellor, BITS, Pilani.
