"Girl from Ara District in Bihar Cracks the Bihar Public Service Commission Examination"

 

Niharika Chhabi from Ara district in Bihar has successfully cracked the Bihar Public Service Commission examination at her very first attempt this year. She has secured 50th rank and bestowed her success to her brother.

Describing it as the best gift ever on Rakhi from her brother, she said, “I dedicate my success to Neelabh (brother).”

Niharika lost her brother 2 months back in an accident.

“The tragedy gnaws at me even today. I cannot accept that my brother who would sit beside me and say ‘aur kitna padhogi’ will never be there to talk to me. But I wrote my exam because I knew he wanted me to do so,” she said.

Her parents, Mithilesh Kumar, a Hajipur-based banker, and School teacher, Sabita Prasad, are all praise for her.

Niharika was a topper at the Patna University in the BSc (Zoology) exam from Patna Science College.

“I was among the top three scorers in Hazaribagh district in my Class X Board,” she recalled fondly.

She won the first prize in elocution contest in 2007. “I won Rs 15,000 as the prize and was overwhelmed that a brief, 10-minute speech fetched me such a big amount,” she said.

Her younger sister works in a private firm. She owes her success in the Bihar Public Service Commission examination to her maternal uncles. Their hard work to crack civil services inspired her throughout her journey ever since.

Niharika will soon join as a commercial tax officer in Bihar Finance Service.

She believes that one should always focus more on playing a game than its results.
