Eight Scored 100 Percentile in CAT 2013, includes two IITians and a BITSian

New Delhi:  The Common Admission Test (CAT) – the gateway to the management programs of IIMs - has always been quite popular with engineers. But this year, all the eight CAT 2013 toppers who scored 100 percentile are engineers, including two IITians.

100 Percentile in CATAround 1.94 lakh candidates took CAT 2013. Eight scored 100 percentile. Only one girl managed 99.99 percentile and figured among the Top 18 in the exam. In CAT 2012, 10 students had scored 100 percentile while four girls had scored 99.99 percentile.

Two of the CAT 2013 toppers hold M. Tech degree while others hold B. Tech degree from various institutes. Four names that have come into the light yet are:

  • Karthik Kumar who is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur and works with Oracle,

  • 22-year old Anirudh Batra who is a graduate of BITS Pilani and works at Atrenta in Noida,

  • 23-year old Abhiram Iyer from Chennai who holds an M. Tech degree from IIT Madras, and

  • 24-year old Siva Surya Teja who is working with Infosys in Hyderabad. He did his engineering from JNTU, Anantapur.

Three toppers are from Mumbai while there is one topper each from Delhi, Hyderabad, Samalkot, Secunderabad and Vijayawada.
