The JEE Main held on April 7, 2013 encountered an estimated number of 1.4 million candidates who appeared in the off-line mode across 81 cities, including Dubai, Riyad and Muscat and Bahrain city.
Picking up the top figures, about 47,748 vigorous aspirants registered themselves to appear for the exam at Patna alone followed by Kanpur standing in the second position in presenting the enthusiasm towards JEE from where 43,000 had registered. Statistics say that, 2013 brought a hike of 280,000 candidates in the enrolment numbers as compared to year that preceded.
Out of those 1.4 million aspirants, only the top 150,000 lucky scorers will be creamed off to proceed towards the journey to become an IITian. On June 2, 2013, the JEE Advanced will adjudge the destiny of those 150,000 further creaming off the best prodigies of India and the world.
Relaxing the curiosity of millions crossed fingers, the upshots of JEE Main will be declared on May 7.
The prestigious Indian Institute of Technology is definitely the longing for all, nevertheless, JEE Main, conducted and evaluated by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), can fetch students the seats into BE, B.Tech and B.Arch courses in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Delhi Technological University and other centrally-funded esteemed technical institutes. A total of 29 cities including Colombo, Kathmandu and Singapore are going to greet the online JEE Main 2013 till April 25 starting on April 8, 2013.
Taking a quick peek into the available seats, 9,647 undergraduate seats in 15 IITs, IIT-BHU and Indian School of Mines-Dhanbad are up for grabs, while the number of undergraduate seats in the 30 NITs across the nation is 15,678 including the seats in the new ones.
For the students enquiring about the cut off, the news is that Manish Kumar, the head of askIITians and a JEE expert analyst, expects the cut-off to go higher this year as the paper is considered to be relatively relaxed.
